Location: Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport, moving to Manchester Science Park mid-late 2026)
About the Role: We have exciting opportunities for Senior Java Engineers to join a client dedicated to improving global health. The successful candidates will contribute to the development and enhancement of critical systems supporting the organization’s operations, focusing on software development across the full lifecycle, from new feature creation to maintaining and improving existing functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software with new features and improved functionality, focusing on early value delivery
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and provide operational support
- Write clean, scalable, testable, and secure code for both front-end and back-end development
- Collaborate with team members in planning events, daily stand-ups, and Agile practices
- Adhere to defined release management processes and coding standards
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and maintain up-to-date technical documentation
- Work with test analysts to implement debugging processes and resolve software defects
- Provide support for escalated issues and incidents
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and work with InfoSec to protect data
Required Skills & Experience:
- Java, Spring Framework, JUnit, Mockito, Docker, AWS (Fargate, ECS)
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices
- Knowledge of software testing principles and various testing types
- Salary: Up to £63,000 per annum
